I believe that my purpose in life is to be a facilitator of transformative experiences. Why?
There's NOTHING that gives me more joy and satisfaction than helping and contributing to someone's life.
Whenever I design an adventure, my heart vibrates in a high frequency, which connects me to the adventurers' emotions and sensations.
Throughout the experience, we will contemplate the beauty of nature and reconnect with our breath.
In that way, we create a space for the healing powers of nature to dissipate any stress or affliction that holds our minds at bay.
Our thoughts and wellbeing are directly correlated. For this reason, disrupting our patterns of stressful thoughts with novel experiences trigger mental and physical wellbeing.
You will have access to a wide variety of experiences to make you feel in the most incredible adventure of your life:
Community-based rural tourism
Adrenaline-packed activities
Conscious breathing
Gratitude circles
Affirmations
Journaling
Storytelling
Meditation
In essence, we shared the local spots with the adventurers in a sustainable manner by bringing opportunities and positively impacting their communities. We love creating the authentic Costa Rica experience with no artificial ingredients.
My passion and intimate relationship with local flora and fauna make me an expert and knowledgeable guide. Being aware of my surroundings strengthens my intuition in spotting wildlife in every corner.
I consider myself a happy soul in a healthy and energetic body, always ready for what life brings me.
Since I can remember, my best moments have been in the mountains with my family. While I was in college, I looked forward to every moment I could explore my country. After several expeditions, I was inspired to start a blog that eventually turned into a way of life, a way to impact others through transformative experiences. That's how, in 2015, I embarked on an adventure among the majestic mountains of the Talamanca (a remote indigenous reserve). The journey intended to find a word that represents my strength and passion and honors my indigenous roots.
Duruimity is a word in Bribri (indigenous language) that describes an influential and traveling figure in constant movement. It represents vitality and water's ability to flow and make its way wherever its destination may be.
Experience
I started designing 9-day adventures in early 2016 for travelers from all over the world, and I keep doing that while I evolve as a guide and human being.
In October of 2016, I was the first female guide of the English explorer and writer Levison Wood in his series Walking the Americas. During their visit to Costa Rica, I was in charge of designing the route from San José to Río Sereno on the border with Panama. Once the path was approved, I walked with Lev and his team of 4 men, crossing half of the country for 11 days. We walked approximately 32 km per day, passing through Cerro Chirripó, the highest peak in the country. (Episode 3)
In November 2016, Hurricane Otto impacted Costa Rica. On that occasion, I was contacted by Team Rubicon UK, a Non-governmental organization of veterans of the English army, in charge of helping countries that had been affected by natural disasters. My collaboration was with logistics and connecting them with relevant authorities, as well as accompanying them to the affected areas.
In September 2019, I guided the adventurer Simon Reeve in the last part of his journey for the first series "The Americas with Simon Reeve" on BBC Two. On that occasion, I showed him one of the many beautiful waterfalls located in the southern pacific side of the country.
